This powerful and distinctive ChrisTrains Nederlandse Spoorwegen Class 2200 Diesel Locomotive is a classic seen in use all over the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (Dutch national railways) network. The four-axle bogie locomotives of the 2200 series of the Dutch State Railways NS was produced at the time of the transition from steam to diesel locomotion in their procurement years from 1955 to 1958 - 150x 2200s entered service between 1955 and 1958..
Powered by a diesel-electric motor with an output of 662Kw (887hp), this Bo-Bo locomotive has a maximum speed of 100 Km/h and weighs in at around 72 tons. Though the locomotive had an American look to its design, the NS machines were manufactured exclusively by Western European companies.
These 100km/h locomotives could not only be used in the freight train and shunting services, but were also used in front of some passenger trains. When hauling heavy ore trains, up to four locomotives would be used.
The PIKO sound decoder 4.1 of the latest generation installed ex works masters the data formats DCC with RailComPlus®, Motorola®, Selectrix®, and is mfx®-capable.
The built-in speaker is precisely matched to the locomotive type. Lots of locomotive noises like engine noise, Signal horns, brake squeal, and other switchable functions can be called up individually. Though sound is also possible in analog mode, it will only be engine noise.
Brake hoses, for optional upgrading for a display case, use are included.
