The prototype of the PKP class ET22 is a Polish six-axle electric freight locomotive built by Pafawag from 1969 to 1989. Due to a sharp drop in heavy industry production (and hence cargo transport) after 1989, this class is now also frequently seen being used for passenger services.
The PIKO ET22 is ahighly detailed model including pantographs, precisely implemented lamp areas, digitally switchable cab lighting, and front and tail lights that is function-dependant on the direction of travel.
The model comes with a zinc die-cast frame and has a five-pole motor, with flywheels, for excellent driving characteristics plus two diagonally arranged traction tires for high tractive forces.
The retrofitting with sound and a large speaker has been kept simple on the tidy PluX22 interface.
Also included with the model ET22 are detachable brake hose dummies.
